My name is Eleonora Aquili and my passion for footwear design began with a simple fascination: human movement.

After graduating in Fashion Design from Politecnico di Milano, I dedicated my career to designing casual and outdoor footwear and technical sole solutions that combine performance, functionality, and sustainability. Over the years, collaborating with industry-leading companies such as JVI-Soles by MICHELIN and Levi’s Footwear & Accessories, while deepening my expertise in sole design, sustainable innovation, complex systems, and advanced digital technologies, has enabled me to develop a broader and more integrated perspective on design.

Beyond design, I find inspiration through reading, podcasts, photography, and travel. Spending time in nature, whether hiking in the mountains or walking through the countryside, together with practicing yoga and meditation, helps me maintain the balance and curiosity that continuously fuel both my personal and professional growth.

I believe great footwear design goes beyond aesthetics and individual components. Every shoe is a system where materials, biomechanics, performance, durability, sustainability and user experience interact continuously.

My goal is to understand these relationships and transform complexity into functional, meaningful solutions. Inspired by nature and driven by curiosity, I approach every project through a systems-thinking lens, designing products where every detail serves a purpose.

Designing footwear means working with relationships: between materials and movement, structure and comfort, performance and identity. Each project begins by observing how these elements interact with one another, rather than treating them as isolated components, and by seeking a balance that allows the product to function as a coherent whole.

This approach makes it possible to embrace complexity without oversimplifying it, transforming technical requirements, production constraints and aesthetic goals into integrated design solutions. Construction, functionality, materials and visual language evolve together, shaping products designed to respond precisely, durably and meaningfully to the needs of the people who use them.
